🏃♀️ 5 Super Fun Sports Day Ideas for Toddlers
Whether it’s in the garden, at the park, or in your living room, these simple ideas are sure to bring big smiles and little victories!
🥄 1. Toddler-Friendly Egg-and-Spoon Race
Swap the egg for a small soft ball, beanbag, or even a cuddly toy! Maybe even swap the spoon for a plastic cup or bowl. Keep the course short and cheer them on. Woooo!
💡 Tip: Let your toddler decorate their “egg” or spoon first!
🧸 2. Teddy Bear Relay
Ask your child to carry teddies one at a time from the start to the finish line. Great for burning energy and practicing coordination. In our house, all the teddies have unique voices so our teddies will be cheering too!
🏠 3. DIY Obstacle Course
Use cushions, blankets, or boxes to make a simple and safe course. Crawl under, climb over, and tiptoe around! In the garden you can use stickers and maybe even a paddling pool on a super hot day.
🎈 4. Balloon Race
Blow up a balloon and challenge your toddler to keep it off the ground as they move from start to finish. Or put it between their knees for a super silly race… Try not to pop it, haha!
🏁 5. Ready Steady Go Sprint
Set up a short sprint and shout “Ready… Steady… Go!” They can race you, a sibling, or their favourite toy. In our house, we often play, “Chaaaase Lyra!” And off she runs.
