⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“We had Becky to do a school workshop on World Book Day with our Nursery and Reception children and it was WONDERFUL! She had the children engaged and amazed and they absolutely loved every second. What a bundle of energy and enthusiasm she is. The children were lost in story and it was lovely to see even some of our quieter members of the class laughing and engaging. Thank you! We can’t wait to have you back again.”

Joyful classes for curious little ones and their grown-ups

Books & Boogie with Becky are joyful, interactive weekly classes for children aged 1–5 and their grown-ups. We combine beautiful picture books, music and movement into a shared experience designed to be enjoyed together.

Each session brings stories to life through:

  • Storytime

  • Playful dancing and actions

  • Simple songs and rhythms

  • Colourful props and imagination

  • Shared moments between child and adult

At Books & Boogie we step inside the story. Children will explore characters, emotions and storytelling through play, imagination and movement. Responding to moments and moving with the narrative helps extend focus and attention.

It’s not about sitting still — it’s about moving, listening, laughing, and bonding together.
Perfect for little ones who love stories… and those who can’t sit still for long!

Books and Boogie Promise
Every Books and Boogie class blends a love of stories with joyful movement, helping children build confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of books.

We recommend starting from around 12 months, when children are confidently on the move and ready to explore independently.

Boogie Ballet is a magical introduction to ballet for little dancers aged 2–5.

Through stories, imagination and playful movement, little ones explore the basics of ballet in a fun and engaging way. In each class we go on a mini adventure: from fluttering like butterflies and tiptoeing through enchanted forests to dancing like swans and spinning like fairies.

Along the way little ones will learn simple ballet steps while building coordination, confidence and creativity.

Please bring ballet shoes or grippy socks.

Grown Up Boogie is a fun, relaxed movement and dance class for grown ups. PLUS, your little ones are welcome to come along!

This joyful session is all about moving your body in a way that feels good. No pressure and no expectations. Each week is shaped by the energy and needs of the group, so we might flow through some gentle stretching, learn a few simple and uplifting dance moves, explore general movement, and finish with a calming yoga-style cool down.

Themes change regularly, from movie soundtracks and chart hits to 90s bops and iconic artists, keeping every session fresh and feel-good.

Whether you dance the whole time or sway with your little one in tow, this is your space to move, breathe and enjoy the moment.

Books and Movement

At Books & Boogie, children experience stories with their whole bodies, not just their ears.

IMG_1569.png

Movement is essential for healthy development. Through dancing, action songs and physical storytelling, children build coordination, balance and motor skills all while staying active and engaged.

Music, Rhythm and

Early Learning

Sessions are carefully paced, musical, and developmentally appropriate.

IMG_1569.png

Music and rhythm are woven throughout every session. Early exposure to music supports memory, listening skills and early maths and pattern recognition. But most importantly, it’s joyful and confidence-boosting.

FOUNDER and TEACHER at Books & Boogie with Becky

I’m a performing arts teacher, director and choreographer, children’s book author — and a mum.

I’ve spent nearly 20 years working primarily with children and young people, teaching through music, movement, and storytelling — while also teaching and directing performers of all ages. I’ve directed and choreographed countless youth productions and musicals, directed professional shows, and taught at top UK performance colleges, working with thousands of students along the way. Alongside this, I write children’s books inspired by my own daughter.

Books & Boogie brings everything I love together: music, imagination, movement, and playful learning. These classes are inspired by watching my daughter grow in confidence through play — and by my passion for helping little ones do the same in a warm, joyful, pressure-free environment.

Alongside my professional experience, I hold a Master’s degree in Musical Theatre from the Royal Academy of Music, a degree in Astrophysics from UCL (yes, really!) and an AIDTA qualification in dance teaching. This combination of training means your child is learning with someone who understands creativity, structure, development, and a whole lot of fun.

Most importantly, I’m bubbly, welcoming, and genuinely love what I do. My classes are designed to help children feel confident, included, and excited — whether they’re dancing, singing, listening, or just taking it all in.

I can’t wait to welcome you and your little one to Books & Boogie.
